DEFINITIONS

In these Terms & Conditions, the words “you” or “your” refer to the person ordering products via our website.

The words “we”, “us”, or “our” refer to Cano Ateliers.

2. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

By using this Site and/or placing an Order, you agree to be bound by these Terms, as well as our Privacy Policy and Returns & Refunds Policy (each incorporated by reference).

3. PRODUCTS AND ORDERS

3.1 Any order placed through our website constitutes an offer by you to purchase products from Cano Ateliers.

3.2 An order is only accepted once full payment has been received by us. Acceptance occurs at that moment and not before.

3.3 If we are unable to supply the products ordered, we will notify you as soon as possible and offer you the option to:

• cancel the order and receive a full refund, or
  
• place an alternative order.
  

3.4 We reserve the right to cancel any order prior to dispatch, including but not limited to cases of pricing errors, stock availability issues, or suspected fraud.

3.5 Product descriptions, specifications, materials, colors, and packaging may be changed or updated at any time. Minor variations do not constitute defects.

4. PRICES AND PAYMENT

4.1 All prices are stated in EUR and include applicable VAT unless stated otherwise.

4.2 Shipping costs are excluded from product prices and are calculated and displayed during checkout.

4.3 We reserve the right to change prices at any time without prior notice. Price changes do not affect orders already accepted.

4.4 Payment must be made using the payment methods displayed at checkout.

4.5 By placing an order, you confirm that:

• you are legally capable of entering into binding contracts;
  
• the payment details provided are valid and accurate;
  
• the products will be used in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

5. PRODUCTS, CONTENT & SPECIFICATIONS

5.1 All product information, images, descriptions, measurements, and weights are provided for guidance only and may vary slightly.

5.2 We make reasonable efforts to accurately display product colors; however, actual colors may vary due to screen settings. Color variation is not considered a defect.

5.3 The inclusion of a product on our website does not guarantee its availability at all times.

6. SHIPPING & DELIVERY

6.1 Orders are typically processed within 1–2 business days, excluding weekends and public holidays.

6.2 Once dispatched, you will receive a shipping confirmation and tracking number by email. Please check spam or junk folders if not received.

6.3 Estimated delivery times (excluding processing):

• Netherlands: 1–2 business days
  
• EU countries: 2–5 business days
  

6.4 Delivery times are estimates only. Cano Ateliers cannot be held responsible for delays caused by carriers, customs authorities, or circumstances beyond our control.

6.5 Orders are shipped to the address provided at checkout. Address changes are not possible after processing has begun.

7. DUTIES, TAXES & FEES

7.1 All prices include VAT for EU customers where applicable.

7.2 Any additional duties, local taxes, or import-related charges imposed by authorities are the responsibility of the customer.

7.3 Cano Ateliers cannot be held responsible for delays caused by customs clearance procedures.

8. SHORTAGES, DAMAGE & WARRANTY

8.1 If products arrive damaged or defective, you must notify us within 7 days of receipt by email, including photographs and your order number.

8.2 Damaged items must be returned with all original packaging for inspection before a replacement or repair is issued.

8.3 If your order is incorrect in quantity or description, you must notify us within 7 days of delivery.

8.4 Failure to notify us within the stated timeframes may result in the claim being rejected.

9. WARRANTY

9.1 Cano Ateliers offers a 6-month limited warranty covering manufacturing and workmanship defects only.

9.2 The warranty does not cover:

• normal wear and tear;
  
• improper use or misuse;
  
• damage caused by pets, accidents, or external forces;
  
• lack of proper care or maintenance;
  
• discoloration or aging of leather or hardware over time.
  

9.3 Repairs within the warranty period are free of charge if the defect is confirmed to be a manufacturing fault.

9.4 No refunds are issued for warranty claims; repair or replacement is the sole remedy.

9.5 Proof of purchase and photographic evidence are required for all warranty claims. 

10. CANCELLATIONS & RETURNS

10.1 You have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receipt, without providing a reason, by submitting a clear written notice.

10.2 Returned items must:

• comply with our return policy;
  
• be unused and in original condition;
  
• be returned in original packaging;
  
• show no signs of excessive handling beyond in-store inspection.
  

10.3 We reserve the right to deduct any loss in value caused by improper handling or damaged packaging.

10.4 Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer and are non-refundable.

10.5 We strongly recommend using a tracked return service. We are not responsible for lost return shipments.

10.6 Refunds will be processed within 14 days of receiving the returned goods.

10.7 Refunds are issued using the original payment method and currency. Exchange rate fluctuations may affect the refunded amount.

10.8 The following items are not eligible for refund or exchange:

• personalized products;
  
• sale or discounted items.

11. PRODUCT USE & SAFETY

11.1 Cano Ateliers products are accessories only.

11.2 The safety of pets and handlers is entirely the responsibility of the purchaser and/or user.

11.3 We assume no liability for injury, damage, or loss resulting from use or misuse of our products.

11.4 Cano Ateliers is not liable for the use of its products. The products are produced as accessories and should be used accordingly. The use of the product and the safety of the dog (or other pet) and the handler is entirely at the discretion and responsibility of the purchaser and/or user. Cano Ateliers is not liable for personal loss or damage caused by the use of the products produced and sold by Cano Ateliers. 

12. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

12.1 To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cano Ateliers shall not be liable for:

• indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages;
  
• loss of profit, data, or business opportunity;
  
• damage arising from improper use or normal wear.
  

12.2 Our total liability shall never exceed the price paid for the specific product giving rise to the claim.

12.3 Nothing in these Terms excludes consumer rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

13. WEBSITE DISCLAIMER

13.1 This website and its content are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind.

13.2 We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access to the website.

13.3 We are not responsible for viruses or damage arising from website use. 

14. TERMINATION

14.1 We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to our website at any time without notice.

14.2 You remain liable for any orders placed prior to termination.

15. CHANGES TO TERMS

15.1 We may revise these Terms & Conditions at any time by posting updates on our website.

15.2 Continued use of the website constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

16. GOVERNING LAW & JURISDICTION

16.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of The Netherlands.

16.2 Any disputes shall be submitted to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Dutch courts.

17. SEVERABILITY

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
